The other night, my family sat down to dinner and a few minutes into the meal, this is the conversation I had with my 4 year old son –
A: Mommy! Wait – you didn’t check your blood sugar!
I assured him I had .. (which, in his defense, there have been times I’ve forgotten, so I gotta give him credit for paying attention)
A: But where’s your blood?
Me: I already wiped it off my finger.
A: What was your number?
Me: (I can’t remember now what it was, but I told him the number)
A: But I didn’t hear you ask Daddy to help you with your math?
Yeah, so at four years old, he’s already figured out his mommy isn’t so good with math, and usually I ask my husband to help me add the carbs…. yes, I own calculators, but when I have a human one right there at the table with me, it’s much more convenient.

He is way smarter than the average 4 year old.
Cute story!
